Highlighting the Austin Major with BLAST
BLAST is an esports production company, hosting some of the most prestigous tournaments globally across a multitude of titles.
Ahead of this Counter-Strike 2 tournament, BLAST was tasked by the developers of the game to provide video content for a new, tradeable, in-game item, with the goal of immortalizing the best moments from the playoffs of the tournament.
Counter-Strike has a vast open market of collectibles within the game, with a market cap of over $2.5B+ dollars. Many fans of the franchise find themselves collecting these items, even if they don't actively play the game anymore.
Introducing a whole new category of items was a big update.
With fans worldwide anticipating the outcome, the project demanded uncompromising quality, huge output, and a rapid turnaround to match the scale of the first-ever Major in Austin, Texas.
From 492 Highlights to 7,872 Files
We organized a 10-person team working almost like an assembly line to maximize efficiency.
A total of 492 highlights were selected and produced in both English and Chinese. Each was exported into 8 different file types and resolutions per language.
In just 7 days this process generated more than 7,872 video files for BLAST, which then could be implemented into Counter-Strike 2 for a seemless consumer experience across platforms, viewpoints and languages.
